Carlisle...Drive too long?

I had a wonderful time at Carlisle. Thanks to everyone who arranged it, especially the Central Penna Club. I do have one minor complaint though. The schedule for the tour on Saturday was too long and the Dinner location should have been arranged so that those who didn't want to go on the tour could have still participated. I drove 4+ hrs up from D.C. and then from Allentown each day. After that, a 3+ hr ride in the saddle seems a bit long.
I'm also a PA res. so I know that there's just not much to see around there but hills, trees and the wonderful smell of cow dung. I was quite disappointed because I was excited to go to the dinner where I find that some of the best socializing often occurs. Other than that, I really did have a great time and plan to do it again next year if I'm in the area. I hope that my suggestions will be taken into consideration next time.
