Anyone here have favorite roads they like to drive on witht he sunroof open or top down on a nice afternoon? I prefer the twisty slow ones. A couple of my favorite roads are Chapel Road in Fairfax County, starting at route 123 and taking that down into Clifton which is a quaint little town on some railroad tracks. That is about 7 miles I believe. From there, Clifton Road goes back out to 123 in a slighty different direction and longer route, but just as twisty and very hilly. On Chapel Road, about a mile before Clifton, the road opens up into a meadow and there is some kind of park on the right side of the road. At sundown, there is no better place to be than riding down the long hill to this meadow and coming into Clifton. Really nice.

I also like 123 closer in to DC, before you get to Chain Bridge. Very nice.

There is always Skyline Drive, also. I was in a car club that meets each year in the parking lot of Apple Blossom Mall and they drive up to Sky Meadows and in front of the Visitors Center up there, right across the road, there is a large grassy area that they let us park the cars in. We had about 100 cars each time, very very nice. From there, some people would continue on Skyline drive south, and others (me included) would go back down and back to DC since its a ways to get out there.

Anyone else have personal favorite roads others here may like to try?

Rob
