Anyone use a boars hair brush to wash their car? I'm thinking I'll buy one from griots garage and use it to wash the cars over the winter. In the past I have layered my hands with vasaline, then latex gloves under knit gloves which are finally under the big yellow dishwashing gloves...and my fingers STILL GET FROZEN when I wash.

So, I'm thinking something mostly hands free like the brush would be a better idea. Used with plenty of soapy water and frequent rinses will it scratch the paint? How good of a job does it do as far as getting the surface clean? Any advice?

On another note....while I was visiting home over the Thanksgiving holiday I picked up a bottle of Wax as you Dry made by Eagle One. I am very pleased with the results. I kinda ran out of good weather time to get the '00 waxed well before winter temps hit here. You wash the car as normal and leave it wet then spray the product over each panel and dry. I use a terry cloth towel for drying but it says you can use a chamois if desired. I was very pleased with how it held up over the 700 mile trip home last weekend. I washed it on Sunday after the drive and the surface beaded very nicely. I applied another coat after that wash also.

It's certainly not a substitute for a good cleaning/polish/waxing but if your cars paint is clean to begin with it will work well for some protection. It won't streak glass or leave a residue on the trim either. Worth using.
