Should I touch up paint on bumper myself??

Hi,
I have a silver 1999 9-3SE and the front bumper got paint scraped off in two places when I recently pulled out of a driveway whose curb was too steep.
Basically, the paint came off cleanly in roughly 1"x2" areas -- fully exposing the black plastic beneath -- and the paint is kind of peeling/flaking around the edges.
So...since we're just talking the bumper and not a prominent spot at eye-level on the car, would I be crazy to try to touch this up myself?? I'm guessing it would require lightly sanding it, masing off the area, applying a primer, and then the silver paint?
If this isn't to tough for a novice such as myself, I'm also curious if anyone can recommend a brand of paint or a good place to get the correct matching paint in a spray?
Thanks so much for your help.
