I own a Griot's boars hair brush.... The original Griot' brush that I bought maybe 10 years ago had a wood handle with boar's hair glue into it. It worked great for about 7 years, then the bristles started to come unglued. Griot's replaced it for free with their (then) newer boar's hair brush with rubber compound surrounding the base of the bristles. The latest version of the Griot's boar's hair brush uses a high grade plastic handle.
Griot's maybe more expensive, but in my opinion their "100% guranteed forever" is worth a few extra dollars.
