Hello everyone and anyone,
Last July I bought my 1997 900 Turbo Saab. In Novemeber I had the 50K checkup.
I just reached 55K (I commute on the freeway to work 70 mi each way every day, hence I put a lot of miles on it each month.) I was about to get the 55K checkup but haven't as yet.
I loaned my car to my son this weekend to drive to LA (we live in SF). He made it to LA, but just as he got there the car flashed messages that there was an electrical problem. When he pulled over and opened the hood he said it was the fan belt that had worn out. This was 7pm Saturday night (2-7-04), so I told him to leave it parked until Sunday.
I also told him to take it to a service station that was open and get the fan belt replaced so he could make it home. (He was planning to come back today, Sunday, 7-8-04.)
When he went to the service station, they told him that there was also a problem with the spring pulley and they didn't think they wanted to mess with it.
Right now the car is parked in Chino Hills (?) which I am told is outside of Pomona. My son cannot locate a Saab dealer any closer than 50 miles and it will cost $7/mi to tow the car.
We desparately need some advice on where my son could safely take my car to get it fixed. We are supposing that no one will be able to fix it today, Sunday. SThis buffer is for notes you don't want to save, and for Lisp evaluation.
If you want to create a file, visit that file with C-x C-f,
then enter the text in that file's own buffer.
o he might have to stay an extra night and bring it somewhere tomorrow. However, we just can't seem to find a reputable, experienced Saab mechanic around where the car is.
Can ANYONE help us out?
Do you know a private person who could do this job today, Sunday, or Monday?
Do you know somewhere close to where he is that he could have the car towed to and repaired?
Do you know somewhere even if it isn't close, in the LA area?
Any info, help or whatever would be REALLY appreciated ASAP. My son is sitting there by the car on hold until I get back to him with what I want him to do.
Thanks everyone, and have a good Sunday :)
Randi
