Your right about sparking debate...everyone will certainly have their favorite products.
After doing some research on this site I ended up going with Lexol Vinylex in the end, and I have to say it seems fine. Doesn't smell too bad, has a 60 UPF to protect from sun, and doesn't leave things unnaturally shiny. I know a lot of people also swear by Griotts products and while they're more expensive, looking back I wouldn't let cost be a deterrant in my decision. One bottle of Vinylex will probably last me for 5 years, so considering the fact that I care about my car, going with a slightly more expensive product really shouldn't be a dealbreaker over this time span.
Good luck.
