Check your vehicle and your manual to compare mfg date
with suggested first wax date.
First time you do anything in addition to washing/drying
(and for this I suggest the drying ought to be speeded up
with a California Water Blade) and then dab-dried with a
CLEAN terry towell, you will most likely not need to
polish. Polish removes industrial/natural chemical contaminents
from your surfaces. Yours is so new as not to have accumulated any.
Thus, you could go straight to a wax. Get into the habit of applying
wax cicularly while removing in straight lines so as to
prevent swirl. Same thing applies to drying off a washed car.
Always straight lines - front to back.
My preferred line of products is posted below.
I run a black '99 9-3 5dr. I use Mothers 'Back to Black' on
plastics and tires. GM puts out a swell soap/cleaner which smells
dandy and is inexpensive. It's all I use but your wash soapy water
should be kept fairly clean and your washmit cleaned or replaced
if there's any sense it's picked up grits.
