Not from the area, but a great paint job will run you $5k+- minus body work. Still a very good job- $3k and less if you make a deal to do some prep work: pull lights assy, debadge, etc...
Other tidbits from my experience- ask to see other work, check on warrenty, explain in detail EXACTLY what you expect (i.e. removing panels- respray, clear coat thickness, etc...); not a bad time to have winshield replaced- with rubber seal off, that's one less "line" to worry about.
The "better" paint job is more like restoration- the car looks stripped after the covers are all off.
My last .02- don;t accept on "pick up" day if you are not 100% happy. Make a deal with shop for them to do the first detail- 6-8 months down the road. The paint seems to "settle" during this time, and some high speed buffing may be in order.
My experience was a little emotional- the guy (for what ever reason) matched the skirts to the wheels. Of course he fixxed it. I'm only sorry I did not get a pic- then again I was in shock at the time.
Best of luck,
Steve
