Good, they're both excellent polishes. I especially like PP as it's quite a versatile performer for me.
The idea behind using progressively milder polishes is the aggressive polish will leave a "haze" of fine marring that needs to be removed by the milder product. Technically you could use milder and milder polishes until the final polish has no polishing ability, just the pad itself is doing the polishing. The goal is to get the paint as flawless to the eye as possible. UP removes big scratches but leave behind some of its own. PP remove mild scratches, MP remove very light scratches, and so on.
Don't be afraid to crank up the speed and lay on some pressure. You can do a lot with the 1Z polishes and a PC but don't be too timid or it will take forever and a day to get top notch results.
Let us know how the polishing goes for you.
