The water blade works fine, but particles that have settled on the car can get trapped between the silicone blade and the paint surface causing scratches. Additionally, the silicone can cause micromarring if the surface is not wet enough - i.e dry spots where the blade grabs/skips rather than glides.
Microfiber will lift particles away from the paint that may have settled on the car. When drying with microfiber, you shouldn't be scrubbing the towel against the car.
