I don't want to pick apart your comments but there are a few points I take issue with:
(1) The 9-2 will be built by disgruntled workers. I think most cars, esp ones made in Japan, are built with so much automation that there are few opportunities for the disgruntled to wreak havoc. Also you are forgetting the crummy Japanese economy, so if the 9-2 means more jobs I'd think Japanese line workers will be happy. Finally, just because some Fuji execs are unhappy with the arrangement does not mean all employees feel the same way re: my previous point. Lets not build fear upon a baseless thought.
(2) You say the 9-2 and 9-7 will kill Saab's image. I say, what image? Look outside the world of a Saab owner/enthusiast and you will find Saab has no image to speak of. Most of what average people know is just as bad if not worse than any image smear coming from a "Saabrolet". Saab's image is so invisible right now that most car buyers will be surprised to see a Saab SUV. Don't believe me? Spend some time with your non-Saab owning, non car enthusiast friends, family, and coworkers and ask them about Saab's image and their thoughts of a Saab SUV or small Saab car.
(3) There's no point in lamenting the past with coulda-shoulda-woulda's. Complaining about the lack of investment in Saab five years ago is pointless so why even engage in it? Saab's survival does not depend on what coulda been done years ago but what is being done today and will be done tomorrow. Focus on that and your perspective might change.
That's all I got :)
