Mazda Rev it Up Report

I went to the Mazda Rev it Up driving school last weekend in Houston for the new Mazda 6. It was the first time I'd ever driven a Mazda, or tried to do any type of auto race. It's only $39, which is definitely a value. For your money, you get two classes, on slaloms and "braking and turning", both of which you can do as much as you want. You also get two runs on a practice track (cones in a parking lot), and two runs on a timed track for the competition.
I thought the most fun part was the Mazda Test Drive center, where you could take out a Miata, a Mazda 6 4-cyl, a Mazda 6 V6, a Mazda Protege5, or a MazdaSpeed Protege3. The test drive center was first come, first served, and you could do it even without paying $39. It's a coned-off track with a slalom, ABS test, bumpy road, and emergency lane change.
I really liked the Mazda Protege 5, and I would definitely consider buying one in the future if I needed a wagon. So this was a worthwhile event to hold for Mazda.
You also got to sit in the RX-8, play some XBox, race go-karts (had to pay for this), and take a look at some MazdaSpeed enhancements.
