You have to look at it by comparing apples to apples. You're comparing a 9-2 Aero Wagon to a naked 9-3 Linear, basically. It's quite common for a loaded "cheap" model to cost more than a stripped "better" model. Look at a 9-3 Vector vs a 9-5 Linear, for example, or a loaded 325 compared to a naked 330. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if a 9-2 Aero Wagon cost _more_ than a 9-3 Linear. If a 9-2 Aero sedan cost the same as a 9-3 Vector, I'd start to worry, or if the base 9-2 were close to $27000, I'd be very worried. The base Impreza is not a $27000 car, and is nowhere near a 9-3 in price or features, nor should it be. I imagine a 9-2 Linear will go for around $21000, and the 9-2 Aero Wagon (WRX Wagon) for around $28000 when optioned out. I think that's the price the market will bear for a premium sport wagon with AWD.
