Ever since Saab gave up on true hatchbacks, they've tried to keep the faithful interested by promising us a small wagon. This just looks like delivery on a promise.
I call that a wagon. It's confusing because many cars have a vertical hatchback, and they call it a hatchback. The VW Golf is a hatchback. A VW Jetta used to be only a sedan, but it was just a Golf with a trunk. When the Jetta got a wagon, they call it a wagon.
The way I view it, if there is minimal space behind the rear seat, then it's a hatchback. If there is extra deep space behind the seat, then it's a wagon.
Then again, they can call it whatever they want (most SUVs aren't very sporty, and have minimal utility). If it provides the hauling capacity of a small wagon, then I'm interested even if they call it a Splagon.
