sorry if I'm hijacking the thread. When I bought this car new in '95, it was my first (and so far only) car purchase. I read a few books on all the tricks they pull and how to counteract them, needless to say he pulled about 80% of them.
Fist time he had to check with his manager, we waited. and waited. Second time he did that, we waited 5 minutes then walked out the door, got to the corner before he caught up to us.
So, when the guy had to 'check with his manager' for the third time (see, they make you wait to wear down your resolve and get you tired), I gave him 5 minutes. Then I followed through the door he went in, through the offices, service bays, through parts, and found him eating mostocolli at a buffet in back. Tapped him on the shoulder, said, quit eating and sell me this car! I thought he was going to spit pasta out of his ears he was so surprised to see me.
Got the car for what I still feel is a great price after that, no more problems.
