The local radio station just reported that so far this year (thats 2 weeks BTW) there have been 10 luxury cars stolen in Toronto. The cars were lifted while they sat idling in the owner's driveway.
The theives watch your house, they know what you drive, and they're work day lasts from 7-9AM.
Even if you lock the doors- a car with the keys in the ignition is a pretty easy target. Forget about all those great security systems the engineers designed to prevent this from happening.
That's one more reason why idling your car is a bad idea, and you can be damn sure the theif isn't staying out of the boost until the car warms properly!

PS- -21C this morning and my car started fine. A little slow to crank, but I let it idle for about 20s and drove away. It drove pretty well even cold, but after 5 mins of easy driving it was fully warmed up and running great.
