Depends on the game. The Sega GT that comes with the Xbox is a bit primitive compared to 3, 4. Some of the other games I have (for my 11 year old) don't really show the box as good (Simpsons Hit & Run, hilarious, and Simpsons Road Rage, ok (both on PS2).
For what a good game is, check Munch's Oddworld. Xbox only, and unreal graphics. I also have Morrowind, it's ok. The new controller (S) is much better, but for driving, you need a wheel.
The other Xbox annoyances are the propertiary UGLY remote, noisy, and excruciatingly long boot time. Not to mention the constant fear that Microsoft will come up with a new, non compatible Xbox2 next year and immediately obsolete what we have. Sony's PS1 compatibility was very clever.
From a programmer's point of view, the programming toolkit for the Xbox is orders of magnitude easier than the Sony. Unfortunately, the promise of LOTS of PC games for the Xbox (or viceversa) never materialized for obvious reasons (Xbox game prices are $10-15 over PC games for the same title).
