I discovered two nests about a month ago (one in the rear hatch area under my emergency blanket and the other in the carpeted flat spot underneath the rear speaker - they chewed the speaker wire) and I was going to post for advice as well. I park outside and I live in the mountains. First, remove all food, candy, gum, etc. I tried a few things that didn't seem to work very well but then found a new kind of trap that I've had good luck with. It's called something like "The Better Mousetrap" and I got it at Target. It's a grey plastic clamp-type trap that is loosely based on the old style mouse trap. They are stable enough so that I can drive around with them on the floor of the car and they don't go off or slide around. Plus, they seem relatively humane. I keep two on the front passenger footwell and one in the rear hatch. I'm down to catching one mouse about every third day and no sign of new nests or other activity. So, I think I'm just getting the new guys as they crawl into the car. Now that the snow is melting, I'll be parking in a different area and I think that may help too.
Be diligent and let me know if you come up with something better. I'm going to check my airbox after what Dean posted!
