Saw the 9-7. My expectations were set low knowing that it was based on the trailblazer. The Trailblazer is a great car (one of my employees drives one), but I figured that if you want one just get the Chevy, not the Saab 'knockoff', assuming virtually identical cars.
Well, I must say that the knock-off is quite more than that, with some excellent low budget style enhancements. The 9-7 would be my SUV of choice, if I were looking for one.
Now for all you "Saab is only a esoteric hatchback car company and to do different is a betrayal" big wheenies... GET OVER IT. And get in the real world.
I have two '97 NG900s. One turbo, one not. Got into my first pre-94 900 the other day. Well the interior was a piece of CRAP. Did not age well. Poor fit and finish. I did not recall the interior so crappy. If that is what SAAB is supposed to be according to the so-called purists, then I know that I and a lot of others would be driving something else.
Hopefully they will do something to the engine also to differentiate from the Chevy.
Cheers
