I bought a PC from them over a year ago and have been very pleased with its performance. When my wife spilled wine on the keyboard Dell replaced it in two days. I have subsequently purchased a printer, a DVD drive and a flat screen TV from Dell, among other accessories.
However, I have a real gripe with them with regards to their selling me the hardware to put my printer on a wireless network. Over the phone, based on their recommendations, I bought a wireless network card, a router and a wireless print server. To make a long story short, after numerous emails and attempts to get this to work, I was told by the Dell rep. that their printers don't work well on a wireless network.
It seems that the server they sold me is incompatable with their printer. So, I ask, why did they recommend it? Of course I find this out after I get the router and wireless card all hooked-up and working. So now I have a router routing to no-where. Trying to get an intellegent response from the service area is a joke. So now I have very mixed feelings about doing any more business with them. It seems they are good with simple warranty and hardware issues but inept at any technical support.
