Scott,
A bit off subject? I would actually be more distracted in Bozeman than in LA or NY. The hiking, skiing, fishing, camping, biking, etc. is part the reason I'm thinking MT. My Nor-Cal roots would have a hard time penetrating too much concrete :o)
I can't imagine living somehwere that satelites are difficult to find. (I know you can see 'em anywhere, but have you ever been above tree line on a summer evening during a meteor shower? My all-time favorite (and I've beena few places) is the southern Sierra Nevada, anywhere at a lake, and above 10,000 feet. Preferably in the summer, when there's some snow left for contrast. However, star-gazing in the winter on a snow-covered meadow, snow-shoes or skis underfoot. . . Wow. You feel so small, yet blessed.
Venus is great lately, eh? I was at a friend's house and the telescope was pulled out to check out the cresent-Venus. Way cool!
Happy Saabin'
