Turrrrbo,
Coming in take the Champlain bridge over the river (St-Lawrence) and right after the bridge, take the Bonaventure exit to downtown. I belive the Inter-C is on St-Antoine. Bonaventure becomes University and before going up to downtown, trun right on St-Antoine (Street after Staples)and go for something liek three blocks.
Mtl is superb for dining. St-Laurent St. is probably your best bet at night with many good restaurants just north of Sherbrooke St.
Make sure you get a noon lunch at Jardin Nelson over at Place Jacques Cartier in OId Mtl.
Mtl is supposedly the only city in N-A where firecode allows for wood burning stoves (or something) hence good bagles! Also smoked meet is a specialty.
Finally. Even though Montrealers are used to it, the area of the Plateau is renowned for its beautiful outdoor stair cases (kinf of an oxymoron for a city that has so much snow) and tourists suppoosedly really enjoy a stroll in that area. It is a great place to get good coffee!
