Nascar seems to only levie small fines (under $50 K) to drivers who deliberately cause wrecks oor crews that fight in the pits, or drivers that punch each other out..which are cheerfully paid by Sponsors or Teams...mere pocket change. In the case of drivers fighting..why don't they BAN them from the next race?
This would certainly put the heat on everyone associated with the team..especially if the points race were tight..or if it were in the last 10 race area. The sponsor would surely say " if I am putting millions of dollars in your pocket..you'd better straighten that "jerk" out! Or if you guys in the pits want to fight..let someone else pay for it.
This way no one could pay a token fine and continue their ways. If something isn't done we're going to have a whole mob of A.J. FOYT types who will get away
with it for years, and pretty soon both the WWf and Nascar will look the same.
