Void check??? Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Fri, 20 Aug 2004 08:41:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello, everyone. I have a question concerning the length of time until a check becomes void. I know that some checks (such as payroll, business checks, etc.) state that they become void after 90 days of issuance. Is this the same for checks that do not state a period of time before they become void, or may they be deposited/cashed for an indefinite amount of time?
For example, I wrote a personal check several months ago. The check has yet to be deposited/cashed by the other party. After a set amount of time, may I consider the check void? Also, if I am clearly able to prove that the check was originally written on a certain date and that the other party received it, am I obligated to write another check if the original check becomes void?
I'm certainly not trying to be dishonest or anything...just curious to know how the whole process works. If you may have any questions or if I need to clarify a certain point, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thanks in advance for any/all feedback. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
