Anybody know a good traffic lawyer in Raleigh? Posted by JimD [Email] (#3047) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JimD) on Fri, 17 Sep 2004 06:15:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Coming home Labor Day night, heavy traffic on the city beltline, moving with traffic in the center lane, happened to mention to my wife the car that was passing us at a high speed on the right. A few minutes later, blue lights...he said I was clocked at 81 (in a 60 zone). I was furious inside but kept my calm, described the car to the officer, told him that if I were doing 80 then that car had to be going at least 100, he went back to his car, came back a few minutes later and said that his partner who was in the median doing the clocking confirmed it was me. Cop told me that his partner clocked me at about the same place that the car passed me on the right. I again asked him how he could be sure it was me and he just said "if you want to argue this then court is the place".
This is absolutely unfair, they got the wrong car. I have no traffic violations for the last 15 years, not even a parking ticket. The speed alert on my SW was set for 80, and it never went off. I even had my wife take a video tape of the traffic volume as we were sitting there waiting for the ticket. I'm not looking to gt this reduced to some lower charge beacuse I was not doing 81mph.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
