I had to give it away when I sold my house and moved into a condo, but I had a Big Green Egg ceramic smoker and it was excellent for slow-cooking as well as just grilling. The ceramic body keeps food moist and made it easy to reach a certain temperature and keep it there once you get the hang of it. It's a fairly simple cooker compared to some of the high-tech gadgetry available now, but I was never disappointed in the results. I used an electric starter and once finished cooking could close the grill to extinguish the fire, but then reuse unburnt charcoal next time. I would only have to clean it out after 4-5 uses.
Hope this helps,
John
