I just got a free pair of the Clarks Denali for myself. So far they seem pretty good, but I've only worn them around the house. When they first came in this year, I was impressed, because Clarks boots usually aren't as nice.
I wouldn't wear any winter boot unless it is Gore-Tex, which the Denali is. Also, the Clarks Arcadia is built off the same last, but the Denali is simply the plain toe version. Anything non Gore-Tex that claims to be "waterproof" is a lie. Trust me, we test them. Only a membran-based waterproofing system truly works, no matter what any slick salesman tells you.
That said, the Clarks does not compare in any standard to the Ecco. My boot of choice (have 2 pairs) is anything in the Ecco Track line. They are Gore-Tex, have a hard wearing PU sole, which is the most durable and cushioning material available. Also, the Ecco Grand Hiker uses their Rubber-tech sole, for incredible slip resistance (have 2 pairs of those too) and a PU midsole for extreme comfort. Ecco makes one of the most comfortable and durable boots in the industry.
Let me know if you have any questions about any other boots, or if you have trouble finding them.
