As far as I can tell, that's still the concept version in the web film and photo linked in your posting.
The concept featured a 250HP I4 2-stage turbo engine, 20" wheels and a fancy interior (read "show") including chrome steering wheel trim reminiscent of Saab's heritage as an aircraft manufacturer (the chrome is in the shape of an airplane yoke).
These features along with the clear "Euro-style" taillights are unlikely to make it to the production version, I'd guess. That clear ricer taillight look was all the rage back in '03 when they were designing this concept.
I'm just wondering if the finished product will be closer to a unique beast like the concept or just a hatch version of the 9-3SS.
Maybe the'll come out with an updated Viggen version (Gripen?) in a couple of years with one of those Australian GM V6 engines?
According to an Automobile Magazine article (see link below) written at the time of the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show where the concept debuted, the production version was expected within "18 months". Maybe this is where the 18-month time frame came from?
