You must go through a US dealer (I asked SAAB USA this question). Only US spec cars are included (can't order an Australian or Chilean spec car, for example. Both of these offer option Xenon on the Linear).
I heard that one year, only 190 people bought cars this way versus 2000+ for Volvo or BMW.
I am expecting to take delivery of a 9-3 in Trollhattan in May. (Maybe the same date as BRob, but different pickup city). I have been to Trollhattan and the SAAB Bilmuseum, but never for European delivery.
Consider buying a European spec left side drivers mirror which has a line and a convex/aspheric portion that eliminates the blind spot and is much better than a stick-on convex circle that some US drivers put on.
Any info on drop off in Gothenburg would be appreciated. I think you drop it off at the SAAB dealer (Beko Bil AB) in the suburb of Askim. I think there is a city bus that you can take from there to Gothenburg city (with one transfer) but I don't know for certain. Bus 80? 88?
Charlie Stalnaker has a nice webpage about European delivery. He posted about 2 days ago.
