The Webers at HD, WalMart ,etc., are not the better ones. I got mine at a local hardware store (for the same price as the big box stores) and it came with either stainless or porcelainized grids instead of the cast iron ones. I went with porcelainized. They don't rust, clean easily and last. And my paint is fine.
We put the Weber stainless grids on the outdoor charcoal grilles at our summer swim and tennis club and they held up to daily abuse from May to September for 5 years.
I know a Ducane is more grille, but I'm not convinced it is actually a better value. But it also depends on how much you use it. If you cook on it several days a week, all year round, the Ducane is probably better, but for typical seasonal use maybe 2-3 times a week, with some winter grilling, the Weber is fine, IMHO.
