at this point as you actually don't have another job, right? So you really only have what GM is promising in the package. What do you net out at once you pay for the rest of your MBA? That's what you really have to work with to live on, etc.
I would finish the MBA quickly and be looking for another job while you do it. A potential employer will pay attention to the fact that you have a lot of engineering experience and are getting the MBA. They'll know you got RIF'd so that's no biggie. You may wind up getting a job before you get the degree--or not.
In the meantime, live frugally because you really don't know when you will get another job. (Been there, done that 3 X. It can take a while)
If you are committed to corporate life, you probably do need an MBA, although experience and the value you bring to an organization matters a whole lot more.
