Speaking of Acuras...
Before I bought my first new SAAB, I made a list of prospect cars. I knew I loved SAABs, but wanted to be open-minded. On the list was the Acura Vigor (that's a car, not an anti-impotence drug).
Well, after reading the reviews in the consumer type mags as well as the car mags, and consulting my spouse, and after looking at and driving some cars, the SAAB was favored, specifically the 1991 9000 5-door base model. You will recall that was the first year with the 2.3, but the base model was normally aspirated and therefore a bit underpowered for the weight. So we ended up getting a 91 9000T 5-door (unbadged Aero).
A few years later I sold that 91, and boy do I regret it now.
Before and after that 91, I had other SAABs, and I have several now, and I love them all. But that 91 was the best car I ever had, and the best car SAAB ever made. If I could find a clean 91 9000T now, I would buy it. But I wouldn't expect to see a 91 Acura Vigor anywhere but a junkyard.
