No problem, glad I could be of help Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Wed, 11 May 2005 09:07:58 In Reply to: Thank you Anders!, bkoeth, Tue, 10 May 2005 23:31:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Looking over the partnumbers for those seals I can understand if a parts guy can have problems since it is so many supersessions in recent years and some part numbers don't even supersede but end in a dead end.
Right now I think the numbers goes like this for the manual tranny.
8732117-->8749046-->55353153
But then you have the 2003 and up 9-3 that use the same seal but with another number 12755013
You also have the seal from the auto tranny using its own numbers even though I cannot see the difference between the auto and manual seals.
Those number are
4491189-->5252689-->90542019
The only guess I have between the manual, auto and the 2003 and up tranny numbers is if Saab have manufactured a specific rubber compound in the seal to withstand the different fluids of those trannys and that's why they don't supersede all the numbers into one?
Good luck
Anders
