Turned out no boot cd is needed. The Ghost 9.0 cd is the boot cd. I ghost the 15 gb disk image to 14 cd's. Removed the old hard drive. Installed the new 80 gb hard drive on the laptop. When I started up with the empty hard drive, I put in the software cd. It then prompted me to put in the ghost image cd's one by one.

When it is done, the 80 gb HD has one 40 gb primary partition. I used the WinXP Pro disk manager to partition the unallocated 40 gb space to format to ntfs.

I would not do it again. It is taking too long. But again, I likely will not do it with this laptop. This is the fourth year I am using the Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100. It is still adequate with 1.7 GHz P4, 80 gb HD and 1 GB memory even though approaching the end of the life. It doesn't owe me anything.
