You are tremendously helpful in explaining these things and I am very grateful to you for your approach. If more people in your line of work took your approach, then more new cars would be sold. Transparency, patience and courtesy just make markets work better.
It will be interesting to see how the pricing for the 2006s works once the current promotion is over and the "real" 2006s are here. I'm going to have to look very seriously at that 9-3SS 2.8 -- and this will be the first time I have EVER considered a V-6!
BTW, regarding transparency, one little observation on this issue of the public paying what the employee pays: A few days after this promo began, I posted a link to an announcement on a GM site describing "employee bonus cash" on the 9-2X. It appears that the true employee price is the nominal employee price, less the amount of the "employee bonus cash." The bonus cash promo that I posted ended the day before the public employee promotion began. A cynical person like myself might suspect that the "employee bonus cash" component of net employee pricing has been dropped only for the duration of the public promotion, and that once the public promotion is over, it will be back, and the employees will resume their buying at the true employee net price. That's okay with me; it's none of my business if the employees get a lower price, but the clear indications that they do, contrasted with the protest that they do not, just makes buyers more cautious.
Thanks again for all your help. We all know that the pricing would make more sense if you were in charge of it.
