You need to either have a duct to supply outside air or a large cutout under the door that leads to it to supply enough air so it has enough oxygen to burn.
Consider a Pergo-type floor and then use an area rug - wall-to-wall tends to develop mildew.
Acoustics are always an issue - see if you can put in a closet with slatted doors opposite the TV (at the other end of the room). This will prevent echoing off the back wall.
Add plenty of outlets for the electrical equipment where you need it - you may want or need a couple of dedicated circuits at 15-20 amps each. If you provide access to the back of your "built-in" theatre setup you can connect and change cables a lot easier. Add a telephone jack to answer the phone from the basement.
You will probably use recessed lighting - choose your dimmer carefully to avoid humming. That means buy one from a real electrical supply house, not a Lutron piece of junk at Home Depot (personal experience speaking here).
