Is personal networking the only way to go?
My wife is looking for a new job and has been applying through Monster, among various other places. There are jobs that she is perfectly qualified for and she never hears a thing from the company. There's either a lot of highly qualified people out there looking for jobs or the online system is not very efficient.
She spoke with somebody recently who told her that some jobs posted online can easily get 2,000+ applications, so the chances of your resume being selected are remote. She has the appropriate key words in there etc. but still has never even had a phone interview. Has anyone here ever got a job through Monster or Hotjobs?
She's had the same job since she graduated from college 15 years ago, so she is not used to this job search business ;-)
Thanks for any input
Rod
