The oil pressure is limited by the oil pressure relief valve. So the pump will not be stressed, and a better lubricant will extend the life of the pump.
I suggest that you try a 5W40 oil and see if you can feel and hear any difference. There is a group IV 5W40 synthetic that you can try, quite inexpesive in 1 gallon containers at Walmart... Rotella Synthetic. You can also try 5W40 dyno oil, but I have not paid attention to what is available. I and otbers found that we the engine felt better, smoother and quieter on xW40 oil in the higher mile Saab I4 engines.
If the engine starts well with a 10W30 oil, there is no apparent neccessity to go to 5Wx oils. For dyno oil, a 10W would be perfered to a 5W as there is then less viscosity index improver in the oil to break down and create a loss of visocity at temperature.
If you are using any oil, try some oil additive that claims to free stickin rings/valves. It should be a solvent type and when shaken in the container it should feel watery - not thick.
Keep your fuel injectors clean.
