Thanks for the tool advice. I usually apply the same philosophy to tools as I do my shoes; buy quality and if you take of them, they will take care of you. I have Craftsman and Stanley tools and I remember way back when having trouble finding Torx heads, maybe they're more common now as I've seen them on American cars too. Especially anything that went on a socket. I think all I could find was T-handle style or they inserted in a nut-driver screwdriver (no torque!). I will need a torque wrench, too.
What about those special SAAB tools? I would like to find a 900S or T with a manual transmission (I miss stirring the shifter around from time to time) and I know it was a heckuva time getting the clutch refitted or removed without the special tool from SAAB. I think at the time the tool was more than a clutch replacement! My dad was a machinist and made one that looked like the original so we got it to work. He's not around anymore so I'm thinking I'll need one of those someday so any advice is recommended. I think there was one for a shock replacement or steering arm or somesuch, too.
Thanks a bunch and keep 'em on the road!
