I have a few file numbers a never a written response even when Saab reached a so called final position. I would think even for a pro-consumer decision, they should send something in writing. I mean now and then I’ve complained about very minor issues, usually so the manufacturer will pressure my local supermarket to do a better job, and get a nice letter with an apology and some coupons. A car isn’t a $2.99 item in the supermarket and yet Saab seems to give it less attention. Like others have noted, I don’t think Saab has customers to burn. If someone asked me today give the top three reasons not to buy a Saab it would be the dealers, Saab USA, and then product quality, in that order (there are plenty reasons to buy, but I won’t go in to them now). The point is I can live with some warranty issues if the manufacturer and dealers treated me well or even decently.
It isn’t even a GM thing, because I have called and written other GM divisions and gotten a written response each time. I have specifically asked Saab to put stuff in writing and they always refuse or just ignore the matter.
