With low profile tires and large alloy rims you need a fairly high tire pressure to protect the rims from damage. I'd say minimum 35 PSI, but preferably just below 40 PSI depending on low profile the tires are.
Saab alloy rims are not weaker than what's used on other cars, so if you want stronger you'll have to buy expensive forged rims or cheap 15" steel rims. Or use higher tire pressure and try to avoid the holes as best you can.
