think of the things why people use any courier service, especially overnight or next day.
Wife was getting her passport renewed and she asked the Passport Office in Philadelphia to use her company's DHL account to return the passport. The Passport Office did a great job in the rush order and called her the day the passport was sent with the overnight tracking number. She waited and waited and .... after a day she called DHL, the person on the other end had a pause and told her that her supervisor would call her. DHL called an hour later telling her that the package was stolen from the courier's bike. I would skip the rest of the story. She was told DHL was only liable for $100.
I think what bothered me the most was DHL never called her about the package being stolen. Her passport is probably in the hands of someone trying to get into some countries illegally, spare the thought....
Her company no longer uses DHL.
I should mention that the Passport Office was absolutely great in getting her a re-issue in an extremely short time, the passport was sent via FedEx this time around 8-).
