Hey folks...
I'm in the market for a nice 8' slate pool table. Not sure what to do though. I've been doing a great deal of research online and found some great deals, but not sure if I should stick with household names like Olhausen, AMF, Brunswick...etc., or is a 1" thick framed 3 piece slate going to be pretty much the same accross the board? Not looking for anything overly rediculous, trying to stay around $2000.

Not sure if I'll be dissapointed though, or do I just spend the extra money for a name brand? Will I just be paying a premium for the name? How different can they be? This isn't something I'll be toting around with me for life, in fact, I'll leave it when I eventually sell the house, so it won't be moved, torn down, setup, torn down, setup...etc., at all. It will just stay in one place.

Any advice or experience with this subject is greatly appreciated as I'm about to take the plunge in the next week or so.
