Sorry I was kind of rushed before.
This is a really old basement, cement floor/stone walls. The water seems to be coming out of this drywell thing down there, and also seeping up from the floor. I guess this is just too much water for the ground to handle.
We were able to get the pool table on blocks (man that thing is heavy!!) and get most of the electronic stuff off the floor. The water is not at outlet level, so I'm leaving the breakers on. It's only about 3 inches deep at this point, but the rain is not letting up until at least Tuesday.
In the midst of this, I have to be at school tomorrow to take my last final exam, so somehow I'll try and find that submersible pump at one of the local malls. With all the rain around here and the declared state of emergency, I'll probably have to have one overnighted.
At least this isn't as bad as Katrina! I can deal with a few inches of water in the basement!! (Although the cat was very displeased.)
