Review by Vanessa Juarez for Newsweek:

"March 21 issue - If you're going to sport one of those mesh-backed, foam-front trucker hats, you might as well buy the truck to go with it. Ashton Kutcher did. He's one of a handful of celebs who've recently purchased the International CXT (Commercial Extreme Truck), a seven-ton-plus, 220-horsepower, 70-gallon diesel pickup. The CXT is so large that New York is one of a handful of states that requires a commercial driver's license to operate it.

I snuck out to a Long Island park for a test drive. At first, at 5 feet 3, I was concerned I wouldn't be able to see, uh, anything—probably because the truck's tires came up to my waist. But it was quite the opposite: drivers sit eight feet in the air with mirrors at every angle to guide their way. A lipstick-size camera embedded in the bumper beams images to the rearview DVD screen (mirrors are so 10 years ago).

Surprisingly, the truck cornered and turned almost as easily as my old Dodge Neon. But the air brakes, which are standard in semis, take some getting used to. All they need is a tap before coming to a halt. The initial targets for this vehicle were small-business owners who wanted to run their landscaping and contracting companies in style, but the CXT has become somewhat of a novelty for rich guys—the ultimate toy for the Sunset Boulevard set.

Tip: For $15,000 more, get the remote-controlled tilted pickup bed lift."
