All my clients are all on Windows. I've been on Macs for 15 years. We share files constantly and seamlessly. All that is necessary is having the right software--which we all have. My clients are not tiny little companies but major Fortune 500 firms. Windoze vs Mac is a non-issue.
Sure Macs crash, just very seldom. Apps can crash, but the whole computer only rarely. If an app freezes just force quit and restart the app. no biggie. And if you've been running it hard, just do a restart and it'll be fine. I restart once monthly regardless, and once a day if doing a lot of Photoshop or video work.
BTW, people use Macs because they are easier to use. The computer should not get in the way of using it. Since all my clients use Windows, I see their hassles first hand, even with ordinary apps like Office. XP is still kludgy, and my clients are always envious of the smooth ride on my Mac.
Car comparison: Windows (any flavor) is a Ford or Chevy. Mac OS is a Saab or BMW.
