Maybe I haven't seen the one that leads you to this conclusion but I'd didn't think the couple Dr Z adds I saw were that bad. In fact, compared to most auto advertising I'd call them both good and memorable. I'd keep the span over which they run short b/c I don't think they have staying power but I think they seem effective and have message.
Then again they probably aren't thinking of me as their advertising target. And when it comes to actually selling cars that is another deal altogether.
