Then you can answer your own question. It doesn't sound like "just" the salesman made the mistake if the sales manager approved the deal. Even so, a contract is a contract and the dealer has no right to revoke the contract, a legally binding document, simply because they don't like they deal.
The contract made the truck the property of the new owner, so towing the truck in the middle of the night is theft...
