I have Verizon DSL and have been happy with the speed of the connection in general. In fact I have heard a lot of complaints about the slow speed of our local cable service even with the 5Mb or 8MB options.
I am not looking for alternatives because I am unhappy with their service - just making sure I'm not paying more than I have to. DSL quality does vary with your distance from the switchgear so your mileage may vary.
